THE DOG BITES BACK

vriska serket has paralyzed tavros from the waist down, killed one of his friends, demanded he kill her, forcibly kissed him, demanded he apologize for his disability, and watched him get rejected by his crush, consequently laughing in his face for it. he takes all of it believing to be her ‘friend’. the last straw was her grand plan that could potentially kill them all, to which tavros did not stay silent. in homestuck, just after the canon point i assigned him, he takes up his lance and hunts vriska down, hoping to kill her after years of mistreatment and to finally rid the party of her looming threat. he ends up skewered by his own lance.

OBLIVIOUS TO LOVE

and he’s received a lot of loving. he was completely unaware that both gamzee and vriska were attracted to him, and became immediately uncomfortable with both instances when they came to light. he is as oblivious as he is ignorant, unaware of the implications his double entendres may carry, and unaware of how to actually court the girls he likes. it’s a wonder that tavros in the city has a genuine matesprit, really. took him long enough.

BACK FROM THE DEAD

in every (main) timeline known to homestuck, tavros is resurrected as a sprite. we see tavrisprite in the game over timeline, an arrangement that lasts about 2 seconds before blowing up in everyone’s faces. in the alpha timeline, tavros is resurrected as his own person, then forced to live as an entity he’s allergic to for the rest of his life. even in the city, i’ve pulled tavros from just before his death, ages before the canon point of most of the homestuck cast, surprising everyone with a tavros that is very much alive. 

ACTUAL PACIFIST

tavros makes it through sgrub, an rpg where you are immediately accosted by aggressive monsters upon entering the actual game, without killing a single entity. instead, as the enemies are all some part fauna, and he has the power to control all any any beasts with his mind, he commands his enemies to carry him around and assist him in solving puzzles. this is attributed to the fact that tavros hates any form of actual violence. after the game, he does try to kill vriska and indirectly causes the death of his crush’s grandfather believing he was an intruder-- and in hive city, he does kill several people, including his alternate self-- but let’s just give him the title since it’s a pretty amazing feat for a comic like homestuck.

THROW THE DOG A BONE

after multiple timelines worth of suffering from the abuse of vriska, tavros one-ups her in the endgame by managing to amass twice the army vriska lost herself pre-retcon-- simply by befriending everyone in the dream bubbles. tavros was formerly mocked for being a troll of ridiculously nice proportions, but proves in the end that being nice has its uses. he also has several panels worth of a victory dance to celebrate this massive feat that vriska was unable to perform. however, his potential as a page of breath was unfortunately discarded, and, still, he ends up bestowing his entire army to an incarnation of the troll his ancestor rebelled directly against.
