Plupp is the protagonist of a series of children's books by Swedish author Inga Borg. According to Borg, Plupp is neither male nor female.

Plupp is an "invisibling" and can't be seen by humans. They have the ability to talk with animals; two of their closest friends are the lemming Lämmel and the stoat Hermelin.

Plupp and the Midnight Sun, Inga Borg

Plupp, one of Sweden’s most beloved children’s books characters, was created by Inga Borg back in 1955, some 60 years ago, and ze is a genderfluid nature spirit who can speak with animals and lives in a traditional South Saami turf house.

Plupp was one of my favourite characters as a child, and I remember reading the books over and over again when I grew up.
