Interview: 15 y/o Producer Alex Rade Talks Music, Inspirations & Aspirations
Alex Rade is a 15 yearold electronic producer from a small city in Hungary. That’s right, thecountry. He first fell in love with music at the age of 9 when he picked up his first guitar. From there on he taught himself piano and how to learn FL Studio. While his friends were playing sports, he was cookin up new tunes. Here’s an interview I did with the budding producer:
Q: Hey, man, thanks so much for taking the time to chat! I was very impressed with your skills and then when I learned that you were 15 I had to reach out!
A: No problem! Thank you so much! All I want to do is make people you dance. That’s all.
Q: So I was pretty surprised to learn that you’re only 15. What’s the funniest reaction you’ve gotten when someone finds out you’re only 15?
A: Haha, some are like ‘that’s so cool’ and sometimees people judge me because of it. I read this quote the other day: “Being a 15 y/o producer does not make you special. Let the music speak for itself.” And I couldn’t agree with it more.
Q: I completely agree. Have you thought about where you want to go to University? Would you study music?
A: Haha I am only 15 I don’t even know, but I definitely want to be in the music business and continue doing music whether or not I go to school for it.
Q: Sounds like a plan. Who are some people you look up to?
A: I look up to a lot of producers. I can’t choose. But my big time favorites are Flume, Skrillex and Hardwell.
Q: Yeah Skrillex is insane! Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years? That would only make you 20, but still haha.
A: Music, maybe being signed. I was already asked to be signed, but I turned it down because it didn’t feel right, but I was really excited to get noticed. I just hope to learn more and grow more as a producer.
Q: What does your home studio look like?
A: I’m using a PC with Fl Studio. I have 2 cheap studio monitors and a mini midi keyboard.
