One of my favorite colonies ws just a bunch of queer women living the dream. Then it was a bunch of queer women plus Denis, a straight man who was raised by monkeys. My only single colonist was a trans lesbian named Sparkles, who hated Denis because he kept hitting on her. Denis was always sad because no one wanted to date him, so when I recieved another (gay) male colonist I took pity on Denis and made him bisexual. He was happy to finally have a partner, and was best friends with Sparkles ever since she heroically saved him from a man-hunting squirrel.
