tiny master chinatsu just looks up at the berserker ... and attempts to 'scream'. "aaaah!" it comes out a lot softer than intended.

      The response is quick to come, sounds like crumpling metal and a short single bark intermingling, a weird clanging rasp that makes the hair on the back of the neck prickle. Not particularly loud, but sincerely inhuman. (So, that’s what it sounds like when a suit of armour laughs.)

Chinatsu did her best, and that’s what counts. Berserker isn’t sure how to feel about being shouted back at, considering he’s just as good at making sense of their shouts as he assumes they are at his… but it’s rather amusing for these children to try and (presumably) indulge him. Cute.

"he was actually stuck for no longer than fifteen minutes. i found him pretty quickly, but had to get a servant to assist me in opening the box. it was a pretty heavy lid, and i was no older than maybe four or five at the time. he was a blubbering mess, crying about how he was in there for 'houuuuuurs and houuuuuuuuuuurs!' and all sorts of things. he was there for fifteen minutes, tops. he made me sleep in his bed with him that night so he had comfort." moses smiled at her, humming lightly.

“It must’ve been nice to have a brother to grow up with. I’m sure he must’ve been scared inside that box but having you around made him feel better.. I hope he didn’t get stuck inside another box after that too. I’ll be sure not to mention that you told me he cried..”

mel? jack nods at this and trounces off happily, munching the cake.

“Yes! Mel is a very kind person and I’m sure she has plenty of treats to share with you~.”

jack is a happy assassin, nibbling on the honey cake. jack wants more, though, so they're happy to trail behind nix, as if asking for more when nibbling on one already.

“I’m glad you like the cake, Jack, but you’ll have to ask Mel if she has anymore. She only gave me two slices so there isn’t much more left.”
