I have been confused as to what astrology to follow in terms of western or vedic. Like for example my main 3 acc to a western chart are virgo sun, virgo rising and sagittarius moon whereas vedic shows me leo rising, virgo sun and scorpio moon. I feel like I kinda relate to both but aren't they like different? I'm new to this and want to go deep into one but I don't understand which one to go into. I'm open to vedic since I am indian and we'll western is the most popular. Do you have any suggestions for me? Would love if you could share your views on this! Have a nice day!! <3
See this is the the beauty of astrology you see.
We aren't made up in a way that just few limited signs would explain who we are and what we do. We are made up of all these different signs in some shape or form. They mingle in with eachother in such a way that they create each of us in such a unique fashion.
Now you mentioned you have Sagittarius moon, considering you must be born around 2000s altleast or specially if you are born between 1995 november to 2008 then, what I'm about to say will make perfect sense to you.
During these years Pluto was residing in Sagittarius. Considering that people born with Sagittarius Sun and moons had pluto atleast conjuncting their lunar planets or atleast hovering around them. What sign does pluto rules? Well. Scorpio.
So people from in between these years with prominent sagittarius placement had great effect of pluto over them too. And because pluto ruling scorpio. By default these guys had plutonic/scorpion effect on them.
This is why being Sag Moon (with scorpio effect) in Western and Scorpio moon in vedic ain't much of a difference to you,ofc they'll resonate. They are telling the same story differently.
And tbh, Sagittarius is Progression of Scorpio, (Scorpio being 8th Sign and Sagittarius 9th) So in a way they do naturally share some of the aspects with eachother.
Now your rising is the one that's changed.
From what I've noticed people having changed risings in vedic western mostly happen to relate to mostly the both.
You could be carry personality traits of virgo and Leo together. Some from here and some from there.
You have connection going on here too. Let me show you.
So hm, your Leo rising's lord is Sun right. And your Ascendant lord (Which is sun) is literally going and sitting in Virgo.
And , whatever sign your Ascendant lord sits in It directly affects your actual Ascendant too.
So even thought here you had Leo rising going on. You yet had good influence of Virgo again. Because your Leo's lord sun decided to sit over Virgo.
So again. Your leo rising in vedic is telling the same story of virgo rising in western but just in different fashion.
Coming to how different they are.
Yes their calculations maybe different but they both tell you the same stories in their own unique ways. Or some tell you more in depth while other tells your more diversely.
