To @starletnexus, here's fanart of future Yalini as she appears in "Devotion".
Without spoiling a lot, she's kind of evil in that story. It's worth a read.

i dont have any like basis or context i just saw this in my mind and thought it was funny
i love this scene because when you know that emmet is One Year Younger than volo i feel like its so much funnier
put that guy in situations
the sketch under this is wholly unrelated but it looks funny to me. like volo is seeing through dimensions so emmet can make a proper face at him
ill make this again but way better once i actually get to this scene
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Chapter 7 is up, and I'm not kidding when I say it's the longest one yet!
once again copy pasting a thing from the doc that i might cut out. spoilery character has been censored
Azelf smiled. “You’re one of mine, aren’t you?”
“I do not belong to anyone,” Emmet said wearily.
“Not like that.” Azelf twirled around the Absol. “Uxie told me and Mesprit a little bit about you. Not everything, he knows I don’t get specifics. Your friend there…” he looked over at Volo, stewing over the Arc Tablet and the runes along the walls. “He’s one of Uxie’s. Endlessly curious, hungry to know more. And Zoroark and --- are spurred by their emotions, albeit in different ways, like Mesprit always is.”
Emmet nodded, because all of that was true. Volo was incredibly smart, Zora was kind beneath its airy veneer, and --- was fiercely compassionate about --- friends.
Azelf dipped in the air so he could smile directly at Emmet. “I don’t know as much as my brother, but I can tell when someone wears my gift above the others. You’re strong, aren’t you? Probably a bit headstrong, too. Passionate, maybe to the point of being reckless. It makes me happy to see… it might seem strange, but I’m so proud.” Azelf’s tails wagged as he beamed. “I can tell you really believe in yourself, and your friends. You don’t let anything stop you. I love that.”
“It is difficult to stop a moving train,” Emmet nodded. After a moment, he lifted a paw and touched Azelf’s tails gently- the only part he could easily reach. “Thank you.”
Azelf stared at him, baffled. Then he laughed, a bit watery. “It’s probably because I don’t talk to other Pokemon often, but… well, nobody’s ever said that to me before!”
Emmet’s smile was gentle and kind. “Your power gives me strength. Allows me to conduct my team safely and efficiently. I never thought about it before. But my willpower is very important to me. So I am thankful.”
Emmet believed in the power of action and change, and what was the best fuel but willpower? Like knowledge fuelled the truth, willpower fuelled ideals, and emotions united them in the rhythm of the world. Everything, everyone, working together, harmonious. In perfect synchronicity. That was what made the world so wonderful.
“You don’t know how happy I am to hear that,” Azelf said, teary-eyed. “Wow… thank you, too, Emmet.”
Emmet’s tail wagged.
