Playing Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon and why is the Partner’s Parent talking like he is giving away his child for marriage instead of explorer partnership?
Gosh, why do I feel like something bad might happen to the Partner in the future
PMD 1/Rescue Team Fugitives Arc
Even w/o Gengar would Player still have been hunted down if the human factor and Xatu's words about the transformation linked to the natural disasters got leaked?
Yes
No
I'm bald/Some more nuanced swer/see the results
Concept for the next Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: the player character was once allied with the villain, similar to the fake-out with Grovyle in PMD2. At the end, the partner pokemon goes missing, and the player is made to believe it's because of their actions from when they were human, and having grown so close to their partner, they despair over everything being their fault and then, after the credits, it's revealed that the partner is waiting for them to confront the pokemon the human was once allied with, and to help them begin their own reformation.
Honestly, this would be such an interesting twist on the tropes that the series likes to use, and we rarely see the personality of the human before the story took place explored much. Like, in PMD2 (my personal fave in the series), Grovyle talks a bit abt the human, but we don't really learn much about them in detail. Grovyle sort of glorifies his memories, which isn't a criticism so much as an observation.
So what if the human really was bad, but without those memories, they have a blank slate for a personality, and that means they can be a hero now. It would fit the theming that they've been going for as of Gates of Infinity: that no one is truly evil, and everyone has potential for both good and bad, even if it's just in their thoughts and feelings.
Super Mystery Dungeon is so good!!!!!
So I beat Super Mystery Dungeon about 45 minutes ago.
Had to rely on Wonder Mail for the final boss :/ i was out of reviver seeds AND out of oran berrys but that’s over now. :)
anyway, spoilers ahead
Happy buzzing—
So after finishing the main storyline in the game, I can definitely say this. Despite my quirks with the lack of training to do before it gets really difficult, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon offers another wonderfully done storyline that is very dark and very emotional all at the same time. Just as expected from the Mystery Dungeon games. Go play it if you happen to be a big fan of Pokemon or the Mystery Dungeon series like me. :D
