during Akyuu's interviews she notes that lots of the abilities are self declared, and as such don't always have to pertain to their actual abilities. like how Miko's ability is to hear 10 people at once. but she can also hear from miles away, and it says nothing about her sword summoning or hermit powers
Ah, gotcha! So they’re embellished truths or partial truths.
fun fact; touhou abilities are self declared. its not magic as shown in pmiss
I’d be interested if there’s a specific source for that claim :o As in, where in PMiSS that’s stated.
sometimes i wonder if people are like. aware the print media are canon. like i can tell somebody stuff like "in PMiSS it says Remi is a kid" and they act like i never gave a source, even with a link, or with "Mokou doesn't actually hate Kaguya from CiLR Ch. 4". and it's a shame as ZUN's a great writer and tons of side details are in there
Before answering this I’d like to say that I realize this ask was probably made in reference to the ongoing drama from this callout post and the reply. I am aware of the issue and though I don’t want this blog mired in drama this reply is still made in the light of said drama.
Print works are definitely canon sources and often the best places to find material for good and interesting HCs, so I recommend everyone to take a look. That being said, some print works can be ambiguous, such as PMiSS where Akyu is an unreliable author who is sometimes downright apocryphal.
As for Remilia, she’s quite clearly depicted as incredibly childish in both behavior and appearance in all official works, so I don’t dispute this. The same can be said about the fairies.
Because this blog defers to all canon information first I don’t allow lewd HCs of these and other such characters for this reason. This is a head canon blog, not and alternate canon blog, alternate universe blog or general fan blog.
As for Mokou and Kaguya... This is to me a perfect example of ambiguous canon, which makes it so interesting~
In IN, Mokou’s profile clearly states that she detests Kaguya. CiLR chapter 4 fleshes out their relationship a lot more, but doesn’t state much in absolutes except that Mokou seems to be moving on from their mutually obsessive and violent relationship. There’s a lot of valid HCs you could get from this, depending how you read into it.
That is all I have to say in regards to this ask. If anyone is interested in the drama then the callout post has since grown and there has been some back and forth (1 2 3 4). Since it’s all ongoing and I’m not directly involved I’ll keep my personal opinions to myself, but please be nice and respectful, especially to those with issues relating to trauma and suicidal behavior.

I have two planned I really want to go get… but I think I have to find a way to tell my mom about it before I do…. haha. I’m afraid she’ll kill me.
Ooh I gotcha. I have one with two more planned (just figuring out how I want to position them before I make a move). I knew for years what I wanted, but I already know my parents (from all sides and angles) would not approve. So I just went for it. No regrets.
But in my case, I got it/will get them for my own personal reasons so I didn't think it was important to tell them. I don't like to "bust it out" at bars or anything (although my brother has no problems telling people about it and rolling up my sleeve). I just appreciate the reminders of certain aspects of my life as I clean up in the morning, or get ready to go out, or especially when I'm pushing through a workout.
I legitimately don't expect my family to understand. So with an exception or two, I don't tell them. Or anyone unless they happen to see.
Btw, a second tattoo is very likely a part of PMISS.
