Movie Status Update - August 9, 2020
We are now at week three! Check in here for the latest updates and sneak peeks at what we’re working on.
This week’s meeting was fairly short once again, as many of us were busy this week and didn’t make as much progress as planned, so we are still working on similar objectives to last week. Here’s a brief overview of our plan for the upcoming week:
Concept Art - This week we continue to finalize designs for the core trio (Rick, Fact, and Space). If there’s time, we’re hoping a turret design can be finalized as well. Artists will also continue to practice the Disney style, and everyone on this team has been encouraged to produce at least one piece of concept art every week.
Writing - We are continuing to edit part one, and are making good progress.
Music - Lyrics are nearing completion, and we are beginning to arrange some of the songs.
Storyboarding/Animation - Since the script is still in progress, this team will be focusing on learning the Disney style over the next few weeks.
Voice Acting - We are looking at creating application forms for potential VAs to fill out in preparation for auditions, which are still TBD.
Here’s what we’ve managed to complete so far (items in bold are new):
- Lots of concept art (which we will be sharing over the next few days/weeks)
- A first draft for Part 3 of the script, as well as a first draft for one scene in Part 6
- Finalized designs for GLaDOS, potatOS, Wheatley, Evil Wheatley, Chell
- Nearly finalized designs for Cave and Caroline
- A first draft for Part 1 of the script has been written and is in the process of being edited
- Song lyrics are about 80% complete
- Music arrangement has begun
