5. is there any significance behind her hair colour?

she actually commonly wears wigs ! so the recent drawing of her is a wig and not her natural hair and was just to match her outfit. the fashion style i kinda like going for her is like.. vaguely influenced by early 2000s fashion. definitely not solidly, like i intend for it to be very loose and not totally there, but i wanted to give her a wig i wouldn’t blink twice about if it was in the 2000s. the hair i based it off is under the cut, but these were just quick sketches so it’s not like spot on or anything 😂

i most commonly draw her with pink hair though, which the explanation for actually ties into your second question, so i’ll just let that answer for you

11. did you know what her sexuality would be at the time of her creation?

before i answer this i’m absolutely gagged because i was about to say “when i made charlie 9 years ago” before comprehending that i made these ocs 9 years ago now 😭 holy shit

ANYWAYS YES i always knew she was a lesbian, i needed more queer characters so when i was trying to think out a character for her role i knew she was gonna be a lesbian. her first design was actually based off the lipstick lesbian flag (ik that flag Aint It anymore don’t come at me i was 12 ✋😭) which is why i did, and still do, most commonly draw her with pink hair lol. also funny side note but jobie was literally created to be charlies gf and then was integrated into the story because of that 😂 man if i didn’t create charlie with the intention of having her be in a lesbian relationship where would i be in life without jobie….

🍧 do they still have any items from their childhood? what significance does it have to them? what would their reaction be if they lost it? jobie definitely still has a good amount of childhood items! her family is definitely not the kind to part with something unless it’s broken and irreparable or unless they can give it to someone else :p i think her favourite childhood item though would be this raggedy stuffed caribou that her great-grandma made for her before she passed :’3 it’s definitely falling apart and fucked up looking but she loves the thing more than anything T.T she re-stitches and re-stuffs it when it needs to be, and she plans to give it to her eldest child when she has oneee. if she ever lost that guy she would tear her whole house apart looking for ittt— it would be a nightmare. if she still couldn’t find it she would absolutely be crying over it and she’d just feel horrible. i think she’d start accusing her family and the other family she lives with of stealing it T.T she’d be SO distraught. i think her grandma (who lives with them) would make her a new one, maybe with the help of her mom as well. it wouldn’t be the same but she would still cherish it.

🌱 what is their most vivid memory from childhood? DEFINITELY hunting with her late father! i think the most vivid would likely be her first caribou she got all on her own :3 she shared it with as many neighbours as she could as well her household. she was really prideful do be able to help give to her community so that memory means a lot to her. her dad made sure she knew how proud he was of her, so she really cherishes that day :)

📸 do they enjoy getting their picture taken? what’s their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of? jobie LOVES having her picture taken! she’s always very happy to be able to save a moment in time, specially if it’s about an achievement, special day, or something with friends and family :3c her go-to pose is definitely a big smile with a peace sign T.T she’s so cutee. she would love to take pictures more but as much as she loves them she forgets to take her own pictures most of the time! she tends to be too sucked into the moment to think about it, so it’s normally other people taking the pictures! when she does think of taking pictures though it’s normally just silly selfies with her friends and family— she definitely takes the most with her best friend elio and her grandma. but she also has a bunch with her mom, her girlfriend charlie and her other best friend barry. elio just really likes pictures so she takes a lot with him, and she loves her grandma so much she takes as many as her grandma will let her T.T

😭 what makes them cry? do they cry easily? paulinho doesn’t cry much at all! he actually developed aspd as a child due to ongoing trauma so there’s very few things that could happen which would make him feel so sad that he would be able to cry. really the only thing that he does feel so intensely for are his parents and siblings, SPECIALLY his younger brother murilo. so if anything were to bring harm to murilo i think he would cry. i think with the rest of his family it’s quite touch-and-go whether he would cry… are they likely to survive? if so he likely wouldn’t cry, but in a situation of his parents being killed or his siblings being killed i think he would cry. when his parents die of old age though i don’t think he would cry.

lae also doesn’t cry easily but she certainly is more likely to cry— she doesn’t have aspd btw. she is however quite emotionally cut off so i feel she tends not to cry in very tragic situations since she’s built up that wall and is “used to’ it. anything extremely major such as her family or closest friends dying she would cry, but other traumatic events likely not. i think she’s more likely to end up crying over the smaller, seemingly “meaningless” things. i think she cries during movies actually! and she’s a bit of a happy crier too, whenever something really good happens to her or the people closest to her she’d tear up a bit.

🍁 what is their favourite season? why? paulinhos favourite season is summer! he really likes the wet season, it’s something he likes watching and he likes the humidity quite a bit. he lives in brazil when he’s not at school so his summer/wet season is around december-march.

lae is actually very similar in which she too likes the wet season. she lived in laos before attending school so her favourite months are around may-september, i think she really likes the kind of vegetation that comes with the wet season is laos.

🕷 what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational/mundane fears? i think most of paulinhos fears are fairly basic and have to do with any type of harm coming to his family, again specially murilo and his parents. it’s not that he doesn’t fear for his younger sister mària but he got very close to murilo and certainly fears more for him. his siblings that are older (clara, carlito and salome) he doesn’t actively fear harm coming to them as he sees them as old enough to handle themselves. i think he also has a fear of bears. he just really doesn’t fuck with them T.T

lae gets nervous with heights and on planes. it’s a manageable fear but she definitely gets sweaty and uncomfortable whenever she has to be high up. which is tough for her considering she travels a lot— before she started travelling more i think her fear was much worse but she had to get used to it. she also definitely has claustrophobia, she can’t handle being squished into tight spaces very well. irrationally i think she has a strong aversion to maggots and other worm-like bugs. i think they genuinely make her feel sick if she touches one. so she has a large fear of finding maggots in her food— she definitely checks everything she eats very thoroughly.
