The main considerations of this thesis work are that of my personal history, information about folk culture in Louisiana, the role of Artist’s books in relaying information, and a discussion of my art practice. The central claims are that artist’s books represent an appropriate form for discussion of folk culture, and that identity can be formed through a place, divorced of politics.
