Self review, eh?
How much time do I have before the Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam?
Around ten months if next year's exam will fall on June. Ten months, seems just enough time to prepare because normally newly graduate students have three months to prepare. While me, I have ten long months.
If you graduated six years ago and is about to give birth by October this year to beautiful baby girl, do you think three months is enough? Don't get me wrong but what I'm trying to say is I don't want to fail this time and I want to be prepared when I go the testing center. Anxiety normally kicks in when you're not ready in something you are about to do, right?
I mentioned before my plans on getting back on track and there's one thing I'm also considering. To enroll in a review center or just stay at home to self review. I have books, notes, plus the internet is just beyond my reach if the resources that I have is not complete.
So why enroll?
Pros. • Updated information and new trends are given. • Test drills everyday to practice you for the exam. • Simplified lectures. • You can simply ask the Instructor about any lesson you are confused of.
Cons • Money matters. A bit expensive. • Some review centers conduct their reviews on a large room with lots of students. Imagine the noise and laughing of some students who's just there physically. • When they do final coaching, they tend to change their venue. From manila they conduct it on pasay or wherever.
That's just my opinion but I definitely want to enroll in a review center it's just I don't know if I can be outside the house from 8am to 5pm knowing I have a newly born baby girl by that time. I'm also considering online review which is much cheaper plus I can stay with my baby while I review.
While I think about that, I'm reading fundamentals and Saunders book to refresh my mind. I'll be doing this until January of next year and we'll see if I'll be enrolling in a review center .
Goodluck fellow nurses!
