I’ve been thinking about what, if anything, to say about Tumblr’s changes this week. It’s going to loop me out of a lot of conversations, of course. Like on that last reblog: if you interact with OP’s post (as I hope you will!), I won’t see it or get to be part of that discussion. But if you interact with mine, then OP won’t see it - which isn't at all fair.
It breaks something apart that should be shared. And that shared space was kind of the whole point, for me. It’s how a lot of you found me - especially through curation blogs, I think, - but it’s also how I found you, you know? Your tags on my posts, your OCs in fandoms I don't even recognize, little fragments of poetry... it's so neat to see. It's inspiring. It's why I moved my photography here after burning out on Instagram.
So, I'm sad. That's all. I'll keep doing my best to stay present. And if I miss something, my inbox is always always open.
