Pocchi (c) 100percentapplejuice
Pocchi [Tickle Monster/Own Species]
Species Name: Pocchi(Singular)/Pocchies(Plural)
Group: Animalia, Invertibrates, Phylum Cnidaria
Life Span: 50-60 Years
Appearance: A jellyfish looking creature that has short haired fur on its body and feathers as its tendrils. It has two big, black, beady eyes which it mainly uses as its way of expressing its emotions. It has no other organs except for its eyes, however, despite lacking a brain, it is quite smart. Its head is almost the same size, if not, perhaps maybe bigger than a human head. Its tendrils are slightly longer than its head. It is also very flexible and squishy that it can squeeze through the smallest and tightest of spaces.
Scientists theorize that it is possibly an evolution of a jellyfish after thousands of centuries, making it able to survive on air/and land. Because of its extremely light weight body, it is able to float in mid-air, close to flight. Using its tendrils, it pushes itself through the air to move and to control itself even when its windy.
It has multiple fur designs, but the mostly know ones are Plain Colored, Polka Dots, Spotted, and Ombre. They are always pastel colored and never seen with saturated or dark colors.
Habitat/s: They usually live and claim their dens in forests that are healthy and have lots of greenery. Usually where lots of wild flowers grow. They build their nests hanging from the trees. In rare occasions though, they can be found in small and shallow caves, as long as a food source is nearby.
Group Count: They usually come in herds of 20-30. Depends on how big their den is.
Food/Diet: They are the first consumers on the food chain and are Herbivores. Their main food sources are flowers and can even eat poisonous ones without being harmed. Aside from flowers they also really love sugar. Sweets like chocolates, candies, etc will make them excited. However, too much would be bad for their health, so its best not to feed them too much sugar on a daily basis. They do not need water to survive on the other hand.
Their scent also changes depending on the food they eat. A lot of them mostly smell like different flowers, while sometimes, a few smell like different sweets. And occasionally, they have other different scents like fresh tree bark, baked pastries, or ocean breeze.
On the other hand, the way a Pocchi eats is quite interesting. They engulf the food through the hole at the bottom of their bodies and dissolve the food from the inside. They do not produce waste. Scientists are still unsure how they are able to digest, but they assume it probably has something to do with a certain acid inside their bodies.
Noises: They make a high pitched "ooh-woo" squeaking sound. (Or in other words, basically say "UwU" in a high pitched voice). They can also whimper when they are upset, scared, or uncomfortable, and purr when they are happy or being given affection.
Personality/Attitude: Pocchies are always cheerful, carefree, and playful. They are very affectionate and adore being loved and giving back love. Some other Pocchies have other personalities too like being mischevious and cheeky, or being shy and easily scared.
They aren't afraid of humans though (Unless they can sense that a certain human has harmful intentions). Infact, they even float towards a human if they're nearby and interact with them. Pocchies also feed on happiness, which is why they become estatic when they make someone else happy or hear people's laughter. It is also the reason to why they like to tickle others for fun. If the person has had enough or wishes to stop, then the Pocchi will do so, but this request isn't always followed.
If they encounter a predator, they will stiffen their tendrils, making them look like sharp and pointy quills to scare off the predator. Though in most cases, they prefer to just fly farther away from the ground until the predator leaves or until they find a safe place.
Abilities:
Tingling Touch: On the tips of their tendrils, scientists discovered that they secrete a mysterous substance that causes a tingling sensation when in contact to the skin (Just like when a jellyfish secrete venom to sting their prey). It is harmless however, and does not irritate the human skin. This only makes it much more tickly when a Pocchi tickles you.
"Glow-in-the-Dark": When the area around a Pocchi is dim, they will glow automatically like a firefly. The light comes from inside the body of the Pocchi and is actually white, but because of their colored fur, the color of the light changes. Scientists still aren't sure how they are able to produce light, but they assume that its the same way how a firefly is able to glow. As a Pocchi ages however, their glow gets dimmer and dimmer.
Pocchies also gather up every night to fly through the night sky as if they were taking a midnight stroll. They look like floating lanterns in the night sky. If you live/are near a Pocchi den, there might be a possiblity of seeing a bunch of Pocchies flying around at night. People make myths that if you do see them, you will be blessed with happiness.
Euphoric Aura: Studies have shown that many people become/feel happy and calm whenever they interact with a Pocchi. Experiments also show that they can even make the grumpiest and/or saddest person smile. Which is why it is also reccommended by scientists to doctors to make them as "theraphy pets".
(Bonus) Keeping them as a Pet: Three main things you need a lot of to keep a Pocchi as a pet. Space to roam around, food supply, and lots and lots of affection.
Pocchies fly around a lot, and therefore they need lots of space. If you have a garden/backyard/frontyard, they they would be happy to stay there. Especially if you have lots flowers growing around to serve as your Pocchi's food source.
Speaking of food, again, its okay to feed your Pocchi some sweets, but only as treats and not on a daily basis. Too much would be harmful for them. And they do not need water to survive.
And lastly, make sure you always have time to give them love and affection. Expect loads of cuddling, hugging, petting, and tickles (or should I say "getting tickled"). Pocchies could also serve as your night light when sleeping, or even a plushie you could cuddle at night! Just make sure it falls asleep first before you.. otherwise there's a possibility that you could get tickled while sleeping (Or tickled awake in the morning).
Other things to keep in mind is to groom it to keep its fur soft, shiny, and fluffy. Give it a bath once or twice a week to make them clean and smelling fresh. Make sure you take it outside as well, they really love the outdoors.
Day 21! Some outfit design on Pocchi! (o*・ω・)ノ Tommorow will be my catch up day;
