Fun Fact: I went to my doctor yesterday just to get a note. My school is obnoxious and instead of letting us just be like, yo, I need about 24-48 hours of not work, we have to spend the $20 to get a doctor to tell us the same thing. Doctor was impressed that I didn’t beg for antibiotics (people do that?) and that I knew I was with a sick baby over the weekend and probably just needed a day of rest. Then she told me how she also spent the weekend with her sick baby niece and that it’s actually impossible to not interact with sick babies because they are adorable and their cute cannot be resisted. Also that HER work also requires a doctor’s note for any absences. SHE’S A FREAKING DOCTOR! I think she knows when she needs to stay home.

WOW. I cannot believe she was that rude to you. You definitely should speak up if she takes any credit whatsoever for any of the awesome that you are.

Our consultant knows what’s up. She asked me if Jodi sat and helped me with anything. And I side-eyed her so hard. And she was just like . . . “I thought I should ask.”

She also asked how long it takes me to write the damn sentences. You know, cross content area vocabulary sentences that also focus on specific ASL/English peculiarities. No biggie. HAH. In particular she was happy with my super simple sentences because those are most applicable to our population. Using simple words to create simple sentences that have complex ASL features. 

The girl ate a sandwich with her dad.

That sentence can be signed SO POORLY if you’re not careful. But the vocabulary is relatively simple so our students can read all the words. Then they have to construct meaning from the words. THIS IS MY THING.

So in other words, our consultant will back me up.

Yeah I stopped following the live blog, sorry. :) I love Garibaldi. I love G'Kar. I LOVE Londo oh my poor broken baby. I ADORE Vir. And Marcus. Marcuuuuuuuussssss. This show. THIS FUCKING SHOW.

FUCKING MARCUS! He recently died in my rewatch. I shipped it. I also obviously shipped Ivanova/Talia. We’re full on into the telepath plot now.

But yes . . . Garibaldi makes me really happy. HE IS MY FAVE.

I mean, nothing compares to Londo and G’Kar. But if I had to pick a non-Londo/G’Kar fave . . .it’s Garibaldi.

And OMG Vir’s line about sticking with Londo “because sometimes he’s right”

I also remember starting to watch the series and then being like . . . WHO THE EFF IS THE CAPTA--- OMG SINCLAIR!!!!

Hah. I forgot about that.

This show man . . . so many feels. But they are all good feels. And the MCD never seemed to be “for effect.” It all had it’s place. I mean, there’s always some sort of war going on. And the main cast isn’t invincible And it reminds you of that always.

Oh no your tags... D: Like... you'd think the very first step of making a lesson plan is asking yourself what you want to teach, and you can't actually skip that step and need to know that answer before continuing.

Like, it’s super easy to get overwhelmed and lost in your lesson plan. Like you’re so concerned with the bells and whistles that you forgot the whole crux of the thing. But you’d think that once someone pointed you back, you’d be like OH, RIGHT!

But no. They’re still like, yes, but the bell isn’t shiny enough yet . . .

dude. DUDE. I feel you, so hard. I've been practically babysitting a student teacher the past few months... in the History department. I teach English. FML.

The worst part is that I’m trying to explain that observations are not meant for you to put on a song and dance routine. Especially not at our school. Like, despite the whining I do about our supervisor, she does understand that we make choices for teaching . . .

I even straight up said that I’ve told consultants that a lesson she liked and gave me credit for would not have been nearly as great as it was without the input of several other senior teachers at my school. 

FUCK UP when someone amazing is watching you. Do something you’re not comfortable with. Try something new! AND GET FEEDBACK!

Like if you do the safe lesson, you learn nothing.

We are not in danger of losing our jobs.

We work in such a niche field. Our skillset is rare. You don’t have to worry about losing your job or outperforming someone else. We are TRYING desperately to find more teachers!

Just work to be the best teacher you can be!

This is absolutely priceless

This was just one of those moments. Also, I’ve totally got some plastic Easter eggs. And I’m going to buy peeps. And then after we dye some actual eggs (and break at least one open), I’m going to give them the plastic eggs. With a fucking peep inside.
