We in the latino community need to have serious conversation about machismo and the protection of our women and children. Hey so domestic violence, SA, homophobia, physical and emotional abuse have been targeting us for generations and for generations women have bit their tongue and swallowed pain for own personal reasons whether fear, protection of family, not having their story believed. People don’t get to decide when a SA victim decides to speak up or the “proof” of the assault. Being a survivor is the fucking proof. Reliving trauma is feeling trapped in your body that’s screaming of pain. Fuck this machismo bullshit and thank you to Dolores Huerta for sharing her story. We see ourselves in her.
