Here we go! ▶🎶🎵 For a while in the past years we have been begging Alex (@alex.granger) to record an album. That's how great we deemed his work to be. We kept on telling him that your kind of gift should not only be enjoyed by a few. So finally he got the courage to take his musical-self seriously and created the most beautiful melodies which came in the form of "You Are My Everything" (His debut album as a solo artist) While excited and celebrating the step he had taken, he turned around and asked me to feature on one of his songs. My reaction was twofold; I was so scared yet excited. Scared because I hadn't written a song in 5years, and excited because I got a part to share in this journey.I just wondered how little-old-me would edify this musical genius' debut work? None the less, I did what any respectable poet would do, I wrote what came from the "heart" What I was currently struggling with and what I needed the most in my life at that point. Then came the birth of "Love Me" I must say it was a very emotional journey for me. I was seeking a love that willed a change in me, I was seeking a love that woke me up in the morning and fuelled dreams that would save me... A love that would accept me as I am, a love that would not give up on me nor abandon me when down and out, but as a norm I was searching for it in the wrong places. By the time I finished writing my chorus I was filled with the Love of Christ... And He was just waiting for me to seek IT so I could find... To knock, so the door would be opened. What I was going through, is exactly what He went through while on earth. And heard me and was touched by my infirmities. I learned that we are just going THROUGH things. Thats how the song came into being. I was so inspired that I ended up singing the chorus too. Lol. And I would like to thank @riffiwacho for helping a sistah get my vocals right.
