Bless gif makers because their amazing works led me to rewatch tv episodes which was almost always a right decision. I rewatched 4x14 Guilty last night and after a day I’m still overwhelmed with feels so let’s talk about those parts I love:
John and Harold having breakfast together while briefing each other and in this episode it looked like they did this a lot. Also they did it again at the end of the episode which was a late lunch. And after the court was adjourned Harold went to their safe house I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHY HE WENT THERE BEFORE HE WENT HOME THE PROFESSOR MUST HAD A HOME SOMEWHERE (and he went home actually after their rehearsing) AND HAROLD WENT TO THE SAFE HOUSE ASSUMING JOHN WAS THERE TOO and they already had The Subway right so why it’s must not only for the mission and info exchange. I really can’t help but to interpret it as their way to be near to each other’s presence as much as they could because that anchored them especially in this situation.
During their first meal together in this ep Harold talked about his concern and John agreed not to bring Fusco into this situation and then Harold said: “It’s you and me again Mr. Reese.” while staring down at the table then looked at John for a sec. I really love when the writing called back to early seasons lines especially in this season when everything fell apart. John and Harold took turns to be supportive in this new struggle by reminding the other what they had been before and to show the other that do you remember this if you do please also remember that I was there too and I’ll still and always be there for you please remember. Also Harold’s expression of feelings was so open in this ep, like at the ending when they’re having meal again and John talked about they still needed Fusco’s help and what did Harold say??? Among all those things he could say or just agreed the decision, he told John he understood it completely because THAT’S WHY HE HIRED JOHN IN THE FIRST PLACE BECAUSE HE COULDN’T DO IT ALONE. Wow I am really in awe of how Harold took every chance to tell John how important he was to him. It’s also amazing writing because altho what they said seemed to be just about the job on the text level but well No between the lines we know he was talking about John’s importance to him not the job which at the beginning of season 4 he was trying to quit.
Speaking of quitting, I laughed at The Machine’s persistence of bringing Harold into the jury so he could work the number’s case which happened before to John in 4C like how can anyone outstubborn her?
Harold’s way to get out of the jury what a brilliant person lol.
Zoe and John helped Harold to rehearse I LOVE THE WHOLE SCENE SO MUCH.
John: “So? I hear they can be faked. I got a friend who can do it.” Harold: “Now, that’s just cheating.” (AND HE LOOKED AT ZOE’S DIRECTION I LAUGHED SO HARD I CRIED)
The horrified look on Harold’s face when Zoe guessed he was from the Midwest.
When Harold finally burst out “Are you kidding me?!” THE LOOK ON ZOE’S FACE SHE WAS IN SO MUCH AWE SHE WAS ME AT THAT MOMENT!!!
Honestly the whole scene from Harold entered the house to he left it those expressions and stares exchanging between and among three of them I can watch it all day THOSE DESERVE AN ANALYSIS POST OKAY (like,John’s expression toward Zoe when Harold got home and then that when Harold said “John, A WORD?”)
Harold’s face before he left; “At this point, my biggest challenge tomorrow will be staying awake.”
Fusco’s superpower was to see through others’ facade and speak his heart openly I adore that so much.
Also during John and Harold’s late lunch John initiatively saying “Fusco and I…” hit me hard okay. He wanted to tell Harold about it and to discuss it he didn’t lie or postpone it but brought it up the first moment he could I’m so emo about it and probably also because he didn’t what Harold to be surprised again like when he went back to their safe house.
When Harold was nervous he put both of his hands on the desk aww adorable.
Oh did I mention that Harold and John saved each other in this one (again)?
Finch: I can't think of anything that would prejudice me in this case. I mean, except for the larger issues with our government.
Judge: Issues?
Finch: Well, one can't really call it government of the people by the people anymore, can one? Because we're all being watched by an intelligent supercomputer that's slowly but surely taking over the world.
