There is a small circle of men within Helheim who have been there longer than human reckoning. They were the first to come to the realm of the Damned – many have mellowed over the millennia, but even the tamest of them has not lost the edge that drove him to Eljudnir in the first place. They have seen Hel grow from a teary-eyed child to the cool, capable woman she is now. These men will personally fight anyone who has anything to say about their Lady Queen. She is practically their daughter in their eyes, no matter how she might outrank them or what species she might be.

Hel was low-key obsessed with Heimdall as a child. As a bookworm who wanted to learn all she could, he seemed like the most fascinating person in the world for his ability to know all things. I might say she had a tiny crush on him as a girl, but it’s long since forgotten and faded. Marvel verse Heimdall has bonus golden eyes for Hel to…. well, marvel at. Once again, Hel likes a facet of someone’s character, and Loki straight up kills them and sends them down to her.

Often responds to Garmr’s barks and yips as if he were speaking a real language.  No one can tell if having a wolf for a brother has allowed Hel to make sense of canine vocalizations, or if she’s simply been so starved for companionship that she pretends the dog is actually talking. There’s a case to be made for either side of this argument.

AG Hel is so convinced she’s unlovable due to being a troll of a woman that anyone who does sincerely express romantic or sexual interest in her has been met with outright distrust and paranoia.

Roommates Hel does have her own place, and it’s in a far more upscale part of the city than where our leads live. Anyone who actually does the math of how far she travels to pop into the guys’ house will realize she’s really going out of her way for people she deems ‘hopeless.’

AC Hel has a little garden to tend to. She loves it dearly. It is filled with toxic flowers and berries, and she is glad to give some of her blossoms to allies who prefer to keep their knives sheathed during a mission.

Marvel Hel thinks the best Avenger is obviously her uncle. Secondary to him, she votes for ‘The Sorceress in Crimson,’ which is close enough that people know who she’s talking about – even if they are amused by her mucking it up.

It took her a very, very long time to find out that ‘Sorceress’ proper title.

Once forced my soon to be revamped OC Julia, who became a servant of @silvertonguedgod in an AU, to make fake social media accounts for all of her many fake identities. What Hel meant was she wanted a facebook or instachat or what have you account under each name that a basic google search would return. What Julia did was make a full profile and account, replete with friends, that would stand under serious scrutiny. It was then Hel knew humans were ridiculous.

Really loves 80s, female-fronted pop music. Cyndi Lauper and Madonna are more likely to be found on any playlist of Hel’s than bands others might find appropriate for her ‘aesthetic,’ such as The Cure or Joy Division. Her ultimate from that era, however is Kate Bush.

Is incredibly disgusted to know that people have written that she takes lovers of her Guests. They are dead, and she is living, and such a relationship is worthy of the highest disdain. She is still a maiden, no matter what unflattering drivel has been written about her over the generations.

Hel will come to Midgard for a certain reason She will put on her best evening wear for the era, keep her scarf long and sheer around her neck, her hair done up in the most exquisite style. It seems she always has a box saved in her name, where she will sit and overlook the stage. She will always come to watch a good performance of Der Ring des Nibelungen. 

Has been courted in the past, though rarely, by human kings and Jotnar nobles. None of them have ever won her hand – none of them have ever been sincere. They either mean to curry favor from her father, gain some control of her vast army of the dead, or in the case of Giants are simply seeking an ally against Odin and his hall.
