On March 28th, I worked alongside the other interns at the last Women Who Rock and Hard Rock Cafe Pittsburgh event of the month. We celebrated the Rising Star Songwriters Night, where previous Pioneer Rising Stars had the opportunity to share their songs with the audience, including their written songs, as well as covers. We set up a Women Who Rock pop-up table that held WWR merch, as well as information about Magee-Womens Research Institute, including a special edition pin guests could receive if they donated $20. This was a more simple night, as we had the opportunity to sit down and enjoy the ambiance and food of the night. The event was only from 6 PM to around 9:30 PM, and afterward, we were given the notion that we would not go into the pop-up shop the next day. Yesterday, I worked from my apartment, completing the list of work needed, such as drafting articles for upcoming events, reviewing podcast information, and finishing up the missing pieces of previous projects. We are also preparing for merch redesign and inventory for next week, and we have the opportunity to work with COhatch in their office spaces for our meeting on April 5. Working in groups like this and especially in office spaces helps me visualize my future career, and provides me with opportunities to network and grow my relationships. Since Friday mostly revolved around tying up loose ends, this week was simple and prepared us for what next week will bring.
