Listen/purchase: Apparitions by Poisk
Hypnotic loops which snowball into intense spaced out dreamscapes. Ethereal psychedelic tones and drones for late nights and hazy days. All sounds made entirely by electric guitar played with various objects. All pieces improvised and played in one take.
Listen/purchase: Palindrome by Poisk
This EP is a phonetic palindrome. It will sound exactly the same when played in reverse. As such, the second half of the EP is the reverse of the first half, and vice versa. This is reflected in the tracklist, which is also palindromic. A broad palette of sounds has been used, from acoustic instrumentation to synths, white noise and found sound. The music varies from ethereal ambience to cut electronic beats and psychedelic noise pulses. When composing the music for this EP I became more aware of how the context of sounds can change how we perceive them - the preceding moments of any given segment of music frames that which follows it. The different directions in which this music plays does not necessarily always sound like the mirror of its counterpart; rising melodies become descending melodies, crescendos become diminuendos and rhythms take on new grooves. This has been a very time consuming project - it is incredibly difficult to makes sounds work in both temporal directions without sounding like 'backwards music'.
In case anyone missed it.

My new EP is online! It's a phonetic palindrome - if you listen to it backwards it will sound exactly the same. It's free to download (though you can pay if you'd like) or there are CDs available for £5.
Live video from my last gig. Droney ambient guitar looping n' stuff. Improvised. There's a toothbrush, butter knife and amplified slinky. Might upload some more vids at some point.
