my team for endgame pokemon black!!!

you'll notice that there's 7 pokemon instead of 7, but thats bc it doesn't have a distinct champion battle (well there is, but respectfully alder i cba), so i used leavanny (beedle!) for the elite four, and then back to serperior (hamlet) bc poor leavanny is so frail. the only othet things of note is the fact i didn't teach chandelure (aegen) shadow ball until after winning, because i completely forgot i had the TM, and the fact i replaced scraggy with reshiram (... fluffy) after catching it. the N battle was relatively easy, but i am not joking when i say i spent over and hour fighting ghetsis.

this playthrough started as a soullink between me and my best friend, but around the 7th gym he lost his file in a phone upgrade so i continued it by myself. they were still tapped in though, and was doing actual calculations with me bc i had a limited supply of revives & was a good few levels underlevelled 😭🙏 (i didn't realise you could exit N's castle until it was too late) ghetsis' BUMASS hydreigon was the BANE of my fucking existence, i was down to maybe 6 revives and it had a super effective move for pretty much every mon i had, and so my friend was literally running calculations to see the best strat to move forward. every move had fucking equations for it and i filmed most of it for him bc i literally could not handle the tenseness of it 😭🙏 the final dragon breath reshiram did to it was literally so intense my heart was giving out. reshiram also did the final fusion flare that took down eelektross, and my friend literally had to lie down with a headache after all that.

it was literally one of the most fun ways to start the new year, im very glad i played bw because i really really love N and was lowkey moved by what he says at the end. i loooooved the postgame too, i love unova pokemon but being able to catch gligar & croagunk and other faves was very very fun. running through the grass not knowing what was gonna be in there was a lot of fun, especially when they were giving out combees and heracrosses left and right. it really makes me wish gen 4 was on this engjne bc its so quick and cute, my friends say to play hgss next but idk if i can go back to slow engines with no animations 😭🙏

12/15 Cuteness above all!

Spent a lot of time dilly dallying, grinding them BP’s. Working my way towards the next elite four member in the Coastal Biome.

Lacey was actually the first Elite 4 member I met so I guess I should’ve went to her first if I was trying to follow some sort of true order. But she was no pushover. Her team was honestly much tougher than Crispin’s. Maybe it’s just because I have 2 dragons on my team, but she really pushed my team to the end. I was forced to terastalize my dragonite or else we would’ve been in trouble!

Overall a really great battle and I enjoy her team comp quite a bit. Battling her actually reminded me that I don't have any held items on my Pokemon so I spent a bit of time after that gathering the appropriate ones for my team.

Afterwards I made my way to the Canyon Biome since Drayton is said to be the former champion. So I want to save him for last. The stair structures are crazy here in the mountainous area! Really fun! I’m really appreciating how crazy they went with the environment design for Terrarium.

Right when I was about to call it a day I spot a school of Alolamola, but one of them was slightly off colored than the rest… and of course that means shiny! If I saw it on its own I probably wouldn’t have even noticed so it’s clutch that it was in a group! I was so upset I forgot to take a screenshot of it when it was grouped up, that I accidentally fainted it… but luckily I saved right before battling! Shiny hunting is so forgiving in these new games!

Since I reset, I was able to capture a shot of it in the wild but it wasn’t as grouped as I saw it originally. Honestly if they were this spread out I might not have noticed it!

I really love that in the games, there are other Pokemon lingering around while you battle. Especially in this case with all the other Alolamola! It’s like they’re saying goodbye since they know I’m not gonna let this shiny go! End up cat co big it in a heal ball since I felt the colors matched! Named her Molly.

My first shiny in Pokémon Scarlet! Wuzzy the Wattrel! I got it in a mass outbreak and was barely able to distinguish that it was a shiny!

i beat pokemon platinum for the first time!!!!!!!!!!!!! wahoo!!!!!

by all accounts i shouldn't have been able to beat cynthia all in one go but i bought enough revives and hyper potions to feed a fucking army. i started the cynthia battle with 30 and ended with around 6. she genuinely had me on my backfoot the entire time with only 1 or 2 pokemon alive at any given point. the only other elite 4 member to give me a hard time was bertha, and thats because basically half my team is weak to ground. cynthia's garchomp wasn't even a problem because bronzong matches up with it DECEPTIVELY well. it was the fucking togekiss 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 i was max healing every single turn with my singular popee, only ever chipping away at its health. it full restored like 3 times. my team was so horribly underlevelled but the undefeated strat of having at least 2 pokemon alive no matter the HP bc u always get to heal on that turn. milotic spammed my empoleon with surf which was not effective at all and he had no effective moves back so it was a battle of endurance 😭😭 roserade was the final pokemon and that was easy with bronzong & extrasensory. i had my friend on the phone on standby. beautiful. tears were shed (they were not, but it was a lot of fun)

i beat cyrus in pokemon platinum (my first pokemon game wahoo!) and decided to share my team!!!!

empoleon — level 48 nicknamed popee!!! my looooooooove. even though this is my first pokemon game, i grew up around it through my brother and the anime and pokepark games and ive always always loved piplup. my poppeeeeeeeeeeee!!! 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧

luxray — level 42 nicknamed lucky. i feel like every single sinnoh team ive seen has a luxray but its deserved. big electric gay cat. has gone through every gym with me so far. got absolutely eaten alive by cyrus' gyarados but on my 2nd try she miraculously survived with 50HP and got revenge with thunder fang 🩷🩷

bronzong — level 42 nicknamed dish because bronzor looked a lot like a satellite dish to me! bronzong really grew on me because of how tanky yet realllyy good at attack it is. i also found it so endearing how it looks like this big oxidised ancient being that follows you around <3<3< i also love bronzor because of pokepark, in the granite zone you can hear bronzor calling out in the big echoing hallways. incredibly underrated pokemon

lucario — level 42 nicknamed horatio. my babyyyyyyy i love how you get to raise him from an egg, i love riolu's design and its not actually that hard to get from level 1 to 40s in a short period time if you know what youre doing. i love horatio so much but i keep forgetting he is steel type too so i kept sending him out to his death accidentally but he forgives me it seems <3 actually goated for dealing with team galaxy grunt pokemon as well as the ice gym!!!

quagsire — level 45 nicknamed tteokbokki!! trained her for the water gym and kept her around for Surf & Earthquake and she completely solo'd the steel gym with it!!! my gentle giant freak of nature!

geodude — level 8 nicknamed calcium. my poor HM slave that simply ahowed up to break rocks and had to traverse the antimatter dimension. the rest of my team has maxed our friendship so i like to think they were comrades willing to follow me wherever, while my poor geodude didn't know what was going on at all
