Pokeversary
Pokemon Go was released in the US, Australia and New Zealand one year ago today. Uncharacteristically, I downloaded and started playing the game on day one.
One year later I’m still playing it. It’s been good for my physical health (I’ve walked over 1000 km in the game), good for my mental health, and it’s given me something else to have in common with my niblings.
Thanks to Niantic and Nintendo. Happy birthday to Pokemon Go, my unproblematic fave!
Pokewalkers - Round 3!
For Pokemon's 21st anniversary I finished up my mashup fan art! Thanks to the 2nd gen Pokemon Go cycle, I can finally complete the PokeWatch cycle (I'd been missing a very important Lili crossover) New ones are Lili (Misdreavus), Arlinn (Growlithe), Saheeli (Kadabra), Kiora (Seadra), and touched up some of the old ones. (Sorry my account is being weird right now and it won’t let me upload individual jpegs, so I’ve linked each).
All of 'em so far, L to R and top to bottom and some with the silly head-canon names I thought up for them (tough ones got question marks after them):
Row 1: Machop-Gideon ("Gide-op") Psyduck-Jace ("JaceDuck") An expression of general despair when Lavinia hands him the Azorius paperwork. Misdreavus-Liliana ("MisdreaVess") OK, I'm kinda proud of this name.... Charmander-Chandra ("Chardra") In my head she's yelling this while cheerily setting something on fire. Bulbasaur-Nissa ("Nissasaur")
Row 2: Kadabra-Saheeli ("Kadeeli"?) This one was chosen more for the spoon prop than psychic powers. Growlithe-Arlinn ("Growlinn'") #wouldpet Snorlax-Garruk ("GarrAx") Cubone-Domri ("Rib Bone") Connected to the...
Row 3: Gengar-Ob ("Gob"?) All I can think of is Arrested Development Geodude-Koth ("KothDude") Tangela-Vraska (Err...I got nothing?) Seadra-Kiora ("Seaora") Gastly-Ashiok ("Astley") Not Rick Astley, but 80's glam-rock.
Row 4: Clefairy-Tamiyo ("Tefairy") Homonyms! Also reminds me I should do real Teferi. Dragonite-Bolas ("Nicolite" or "Nicol Dragon") That's Mr. Nicol Dragon, to you. Meowth-Ajani ("Meowi") No joke, this was my neighbor's cat's name, conferred when he was ~age 5. Pikachu-Ral Zarek ("Zap-a-chu?")
