To the Bombed, the Homeless, the Wounded… - Maria Pawlikowska-Jasnorzewska - Poland
Translator: Tony Howard, Barbara Bogoczek (Polish)
Who will weep for you? Not John and not Mary. Neither Percy nor William. Not Gladys – nor Sybil Hardened by the cold and tough as the seagulls. But a sad woman from Krakow will. She was born next to Wawel castle, In a country where we were taught to cry our eyes out by the birches, By the robins in the park, by Chopin, by black cherries. From a land with a culture of tears, a land of melancholy…
I raise a toast to you with a cup of tea, I serve you with my grief – my country’s natural resource.

Eurovision Fact #333:
Poland has not placed in the top 5 since their first ever Eurovision performance in 1994, where they placed 2nd thanks to 'To Nie Ja!' by Edyta Górniak. However, the nation has managed to breach top 10 twice. The first time was in 2003, where they placed 7th with Ich Troje's 'Keine Grenzen - Zadnych Granic,' and then in 2016, they placed 8th with 'Color of Your Life' by Michał Szpak.

I WAS SOLD TO A PERRY?!
Gale Nolan was shoved down to the ground to be laid out in front of their boss. "Th-There's been a mistake!"
"There isn't a mistake." A crude voice echoed in front of him. "Your parents didn't have enough money to pay their debts, so they sold their only son to us."
"P-please... Don't kill me." The mafia was indeed frightening for Gale, his parents always mingled with them but he knew they were nothing but trouble.
"Why would we kill such precious materials. No, you, my boy, are going to be the newest butler to my son, Thomas."
Thomas Perry. That sounded familiar to Gale, as he looked up, his gaze matched the suave 23 year old man. He's seen Thomas before, when he was in Welton. Oh... No wonder. He was only 3 years younger than him yet he looked more matured and refined.
"Father... Are you sure you wanna give me this... thing... as a butler?" Gale was offended at the comment but he knew to bite his tongue when it came to the mafia.
"Now, Thomas, he's to be your caretaker, your butler-- heck, do whatever you want with him. I'm sick of using my men on your pesky whims. Take it out on him, son."
Thomas smirked and Gale gulped in fear.
As they returned to Thomas' room, Gale was immediately brought to his knees.
