Founded in 1953, Pollini is internationally acknowledged to represent the best tradition of Italian footwear and leather goods craftsmanship. In 2003, introduction of prêt-à-porter product line, directed by Rifat Ozbek to improve international visibility and positioning
Rıfat Özbek (born in 1953 in Istanbul, Turkey) is a fashion designer. He was named British Designer of the Year in 1988 and 1992. He moved to London in the 1970s and lived in his parents flat in Belgravia whilst he was studying Architecture and then Fashion at Saint Martin's School Of Art. In 1984 he established his own company, Ozbek (couture), and began to show his yearly collections in Milan and New York City, and more recently, in Paris. He established second line, O, renamed Future Ozbek (ready-to-wear) in 1987. After his last Spring/Summer 2001 collection, Özbek designed for Pollini brand between 2004 and 2008. After retiring from fashion world, Özbek moved back to Turkey and opened his cushion boutiques in Istanbul.
