Every artist has a personal way of expressing their views and their feelings in their art. Some start with one style and as time progresses veer towards a different and more personable style of their own. Which in turn captivates the audience because it's new. Others never get that opportunity to jump and create something that truly suits them. Jackson Pollock was one who jumped. I think that's where he was able to go from imagery abstract to just abstract and create what he saw and felt like as an artist. As mentioned he was a drunkard, a man full of anger and living a life of toxic love which I also feel plays a role in his work. His work expressed how he felt inside which is one way of understanding why the imagery stopped. He may have begun to lose imagery because he was in a way slowly losing himself and at some points finding himself as well because that's when his art truly took off. When you look at the drip work it's chaotic but still in the midst of the chaos, there's a coordination a rhythm, and balance to it all. His work changed because he changed he found what best illustrated his thoughts and his life.
