It's a horror movie about how love, not only romantic but familial, can overcome everything!!! And anything!!! Even death! Even hatred!!! And it's about having faith in your fellow man!!!!
That parapsychologist showed up and stayed through some of the freakiest shit in the world to save one child! One child she didn't even know!!!!! And she stayed to comfort a frightened mother and a terrified father- people who just wanted to see their little girl safe.
It's a horror movie about how even though greed and hatred and corruption exist in the hearts of some, love and caring and companionship exist in the hearts of others!!!
Steve Freeling loves his job. He really does! He believes in the future of the project. He doesn't know what his boss has done, how could he? He is selling people a future he believes in, a future he can't wait for! His boss is greedy, cutting corners, but Steve is not.
And once his faith is shattered? He is still there for his family. He never gives up! It's so common in movies for the dad to not be invested, to not care. But not Steve Freeling. He gets upset when it's even SUGGESTED he spanks his children.
And the way he and Diane love each other feels so natural. Every scene they're together in, you can feel it! Godddddd I just. I just love them. It's a ghost movie about LOVE BEING ENOUGH. AAAAAAAAAAAAA
