Hygróphila polysperma “Sunset” and Hygrophila polysperma ‘Rosanervig’ are synonyms. This plant is normally an undemanding plant. But if you want deep-pink leaves you must provide intensive light. Stems becomes 20-40 cm tall and 5-8 cm wide. The distinctive colouring of the light leaf ribs is probably caused by a virus which prevents chlorophyll from being produced in the cells around the leaf ribs, making them white. However, this virus does not affect other plants in the aquarium.
Plant info Type: Stem Origin: Cultivar Growth rate: Medium Height: 20 - 30+ Light demand: Low CO2 : Medium Source: http://tropica.com/en/plants/plantdetails/Hygrophilapolysperma'Rosanervig’(050B)/4484. I have grown this plant in moderate hardness and without any CO2, just a lot of iron and intense illumination, and it was just as beautiful as these photos. It is so easy it hurts. This is one of my favorite plants of all times. Just trim and replant and you can have stunning groves in no time! Love, love, love this plant! By the way it never melts like other plants when introduced into a tank. The lesser illumination, the greener it will be.
