In my mind, after the cloho finale, Daisuke realises that olethra doesn’t need much looking after anymore- or more that she has so many people looking after her now, that he is not needed, so he decides to retire with Monty. They live together in a little home on the edge of Pilby with Courtney and ghost dog, and yeah what they’ve got going on is certainly more than platonic, but they never address it because they don’t need to because they’ve known each other for so long and know the other so well, but everyone knows. And they live out the rest of their days being old and gay, walls littered with photos of Olethra and the wind riders and one specially framed photo of Daisuke any comfrey on their wedding day ♥️
