Tea Time
A chuckle brushed past furry lips, a paw coming up to absently scratch at the thick fur that puffed up on his chest. Jack surely had gone all out this winter. The pooka assumed it was because of the sudden surge of believers for him, or that he finally had somewhere to fit in. A purpose to serve within a group, and a place to be. He probably got carried away.
As long as the snow was gone in time for his holiday, Aster didn’t mind the enthusiasm. “True that, truth to that indeed.” He hummed, ears perking up at the mention of tea. “I was just goin’ to fix myself a titch of lunch, if you care to join me.” He offered with a slight tilt of his head. “Chess.. You know I’m knackers at that. It would hardly be a game, more of an easy win for you.” His eyes narrowed on a grin.
"Mn." The Tsar let out a content hum at the idea of having tea and lunch with the male. Aster was the only Guardian who ate the same diet as himself. When he would visit the others he'd have to politely decline meats and other non-plant substances. Mani himself was loathe to the idea of eating another once-living creature.
"Perhaps we could make the game interesting with a wager." He had been rather good lately, not making wagers on the games he played on the Clipper. But this wasn't his ship, now was it? Faintly smirking the Tsar tapped his chin. "Perhaps... each round you improve you get a point. Each round I beat you faster, I get a point. The first to five points wins."
As to what the other won, he hardly specified. It was best to let the other male select the prizes, since he himself had proposed the challenge.
Somehow whenever he visited the warren he felt particularly puckish. Perhaps it was the fresh air or vibrant plant life that had a positive effect on the Tsar. Or perhaps it was the fact that Aster was simply someone he trusted. Another being without anything but himself. It was reassuring to find company in another lonely soul, if not therapeutic.
"As for tea, the bitter it is the better I like it." Unfortunately he did not share the Pooka's love of sweets.
