Interesting Behaviour -Cheetah Adoption at the @serengeticheetahproject ・・・ A female cheetah known as #Keziah decides to adopt one of her aunt’s #Pookas cubs to increase her litter from 5 to six fluff balls that she hangs with now. Various cooldown doodles from last night.

Vaughn reminded me of a bunch of old rabbit characters I had and I decided to combine them all into one group called the Pookas. Pookas are magical creatures creatures with the ability to shapeshift. Some have other powers as well but they’re mainly known for using their shapeshifting to pull pranks, some harmless, some malicious.  When they’re outside their own world Pookas mainly take on the form of anthropomorphic rabbits. They often have normal colors and patterns you would see on any domestic rabbit. They are able to shapeshift but only a limited amount before they burn themselves out. When they’re in their homeworld, Pookaland, their coats become much more colorful and vibrant. THey are able to shapeshift endlessly in their homeworld.  Another random tidbit, Pookas follow some of the fairy rules, for example, they all have nicknames and rarely ever share their real names since names have power.  Mesmer Metamorphi is the king of Pookaland and is a Harlequin Flemish Giant Pooka. He has powers beyond shapeshifting and tows the line between harmful and harmless pranks. 

Then there are other characters who are more miscellaneous. For example Rabbigator is like an updated version of my old taffigator.  Hope you enjoy!

i’m reading this fantastically adorable book called “fairies, pookas and changelings - a complete guide to the wild and wicked enchanted realm” i think i might post some ideas from it here, it’s just so fun, i love folklore so much, can the fairies come and say hello in my garden soon, please?

seriously it’s so good, some chapter titles, just to prove my point: the hand that rocks the cradle: changelings and other greedy kidnappers of the fairy kingdom; i’m not drunk, it’s just my pookas: tales of the trickster fair and its wild counterparts; whoops, there it is, how to enter the fairy kingdom (or how not to)
