In March 2019, We started with a dream to create a coffee estate that functions like a tropical forest, a place that helps the surrounding forests thrive. Forest-friendly estate, we called it. Quite frankly, It seemed too ambitious then but we were super eager to see how far we could reach. With a little reckless faith, we forged ahead and found ourselves amongst fellow believers.
18 months later we are proud to say our first wilderness collective - The Poomaale Estate is now fully subscribed- a community sharing the vision of a landscape that hits the sweet spot of ecological restoration and economic viability - a truly sustainable model for the western ghats. As we welcome 2021 with great hope and expectation, We couldn’t have asked for a faster turnaround. In our first year, our practices have ensured that
every packet of bewild coffee saves 65 lt of water.
Elephants, deer, birds are now in abundance throughout the estate.
The estate is also home to several rare tropical forest trees.
