Forgot to post this, last night on the microscope! 🔬 I found a live worm in a dog's fecal smear! 😱😱😱 Which is extremely unusual, turns out it was a microfilaria! AKA the larval stage of a heartworm in this dog's stool and ee were able to see it because he was having bloody diarrhea! We then confirmed the dog was heartworm positive with a blood test. 😕 #science #heartwormawareness #vetmed #socool #poopyfindings #microfilaria
