Certainly Jack would never be so bold as to try to lay any physical claim on a person, but he’s had one of his bad days and a bit too much to drink. And she’s just there, and talking to her really does help. He presses a kiss to her shoulder, just a light peck, and slumps slightly against her.

Magda knows better than to read too far into it. She hasn’t been the object of anyone’s affection in years and she’s certainly not going to start now. Oh no, that ship has been and sailed - but it does make her better prepared to navigate these uncertain waters.  She’s there for as long as he needs her to be, leafing through his hair and making sure to keep an ever protective arm around his back. It’s only a peck when he grazes her shoulder and she lets it slide without incident. “What’s the matter, hmm?” She prompts tentatively, his shoulders earning themselves a reassuring squeeze and his forehead that patented maternal kiss. “Talk to me.”
