For goodness sake Doctor, stop stealing Jo’s sandwiches!! It’s one thing to steal the Master’s sandwich, but this is too much. Get ahold of yourself! 😂😂

"Hey there cutie"

Manuel: You should rest.
Joshua: I can’t. My resting heart rate registers as a heart attack.
Funeral (Jo pt. 1)
Summary: He is dead and his upcoming funeral looms.
Prompt: “Are you going to the funeral” by @dailytextprompt
Edited a tad. A few errors and slight shift in story.
*****
Joanna stares at her grimed reflection in the mirror, at the nice black dress laying too big over her. It’s a hand-me-down from her grandmother, once sewn from softness and now tattered and patched in the way all hand-me-downs are.
She smooths out her skirts again uselessly, thinking over her mother’s half-shouted question.
Are you going to the funeral?
Jo doesn’t know how to answer that. She doesn’t know how she’s supposed to walk down the gravel path to the cemetery and sit through a long, embellished speech from someone who never spoke to him and recognized how much of a hero he was. She doesn’t want to see how much silver is going into a nice, sturdy coffin and an official headstone and a crowd of people who didn’t know him and -- she doesn’t know if she could stand all the hypocrisy.
They didn’t know him.
He LIED to Jo. He told her he was visiting his mother. Alex Karev is now a piece of shit.
Joseph curled up into a fetal position, and Marianne curled herself around him in response. The wolf watched them with nervous eyes, all the while making whining noises.
Mari stroked Joseph’s shoulder. She was uncomfortable being so close to the fire, but she would do anything possible to comfort her husband.
Joseph whispered in his gravel-toned voice, “Every time before I transform, I do my utmost to stay far away from any form of humanity. It feels as though no matter what I do to stop my other side from harming others...I fail. Always.” Joseph’s voice broke off in a painful gasp, as though merely talking was causing sharp, knife-stabbing pain on his vocal cords.
Marianne merely kept quiet. She knew the taking of life was no small thing. But for her husband - for the love of her life - she would do anything. Absolutely anything. Even cover up a murder, accidental though it may be.
He disturbed her musings by speaking once more:
“This is just like with Alaina. We were only newlyweds when I was first bitten all those years ago. I thought that I was attacked by some wild animal so I stayed home to tend to my wounds. She was patching me up when I transformed for the first time.”
Joseph was breathing quickly, his heartbeat going a mile a minute while relieving the worst moments of his life. He finished brokenly and with a hoarse whisper, “She never stood a chance. When I became human again and saw her lying in a puddle of her own blood...words can’t describe what I felt. I buried her in the meadow that we both loved and ran away. I have never stayed too long in one place ever since that day. That’s why I’m so careful with you - I can’t lose you too.”

It’s been SIX years and I am still not over TWISTED writing a storyline where perverts illegally recorded and released a sex tape of a black and a half-Indian teenage couple... and THEY apologized to the white girl who crushed on the boy. #POORJO
