(I also have an AU in rough drafts where, after finding out the twisteds can be reverted back to toons, Boxten goes to rescue T. Poppy on her own, nearly dies and drags the barely lucid but now docile twisted back to the toon rooms. He spends weeks with her, just sitting with her and slowly watching the light return back to her eyes, after over a year of not being able to talk to her. Poppy is glad to be herself again, and Boxten is glad he has her friend back)
