14. going for drinks after 🍸🍿

Isn’t that the same thing as going out for drinks before the movie? Obviously not. 

These are two entirely different things. (also, it doesn’t look like cinemas will reopen any time soon so I need to be economical with the points on my list). So, where’s the difference then?

Easy.

Going before the movie is mostly about catching up, talking to your friends, passing time before heading to the cinema, having a wonderful start to the evening.

Going afterwards is different. You’ve already catched up with your friends, seen the movie. But now you can talk about it, what annoyed you, what you liked. You can spend even more time with your friends, see where the evening will go without having any specific further times. 

Agh, I miss the times when you had possibilities…

13. going for drinks before 🍹🍿

It’s Friday and I was thinking of what a more or less ideal Friday night would look like (for me) and it obviously involves the cinema. (Not that I wouldn’t do the same any other day during the week #studentlife )

And what can make a movie night even better? 

Right, alcohol. Going with your friends for drinks before the movie. 

I love it because it gives you the chance to go out, catch up with your friends. Because obviously you don’t have that much "talking-time“ once the movie starts (unless you’re one of those annoying people who constantly talk during the movie). Also it just generally gives you more time with your friends and isn’t that something we all need right now? ❤️🍿

11. watching something with an audience 🎬👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

It’s so much more fun to watch an extremely good or extremely bad movie together with a big audience! If it’s a good one, you can laugh together, cheer together, go through the entire journey together. If it’s a bad one, you can… well also laugh together but probably during inappropriate moments. Anyway, I admit that watching a movie alone in the cinema is also highly recommendable, but to share a viewing-experience with an audience is a highlight. I’ll never forget the shocked gasps in the final moments of Avengers: Infinity War, or the shrilling and overexcited laughter of kids while watching the Minions movie, or the applause that erupted at the end of Nice Guys… those days, take me back please?
