What my pope mission consisted of....
> 11 am: head to meet my friend Matty
> 12 pm: Meet up with Matty. Grab something to eat
> 12:30ish: Got to center city
> Notice people camped out by jumbotron. Considering joining them, thinking they have the right idea. Matty and I decide to try for it anyway, and head for the security check point (Spoiler: Should have went with my initial gut instinct)
> 1 pm: Start of security check point
> 3 pm: At this point my anxiety is super high. I’m getting annoyed by people cutting in front of us. Snap at someone in front of me for pushing. I feel bad about that now :/ We find out there’s two hour wait AFTER the check point to get to the Ben Franklin Parkway. We peace the fuck out of the check point. We weren’t even close to it. By the time we would have gotten to the parkway, mass would have been over.
> Decide to go back to Love Park where we found a jumbotron (which was tiny as fuck). Huge crowd there
> Manage to find a decent spot. Wait to see if Pope comes by. Sadly he did not.
> Watch a portion of mass, but my back is killing me so I had to go sit on the curb. Listen to mass while chatting to people from all over the world. Pretty cool moments.
> During Communion Matty and I decide on Dunkin. It may not be the body and blood of Christ, but we were hungry.
> Watch the rest of Mass.
> 6pm: We are behind a woman getting interviewed for a news station. May totally be on tv.
> Head for subway. HOLY FUCK THE SUBWAY HAS NEVER BEEN THIS CROWDED. Luckily they were all heading soutbound. I was heading north. End up on an nearly empty train. Me and this random dude are freaking out that it’s empty. I got on the phone with his friend to confirm the train was empty and he was not shitting his friend.
>7:20pm: Part ways with Matty
> 8pm: Meet a nice family on the bus ride home. They got in to see the Pope AND got communion. Lucky fucks. Husband was telling me about how his wife cried when she received communion because she was sad other people could not. I was one of them. lol
> If you couldn’t tell by now,I get into random convos with total strangers all the time
I didn’t get to see the pope, but the experience was amazing. Connecting with people all over the world and sharing the same event was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Had a pretty good time! 10/10, would go again if I could.
Now back to normal blogging
