the performance artist Pope L. has traversed a substantial portion of New York City, on his hands, elbows, knees and stomach. His crawls were a way of exploring inequalities that are often obscured by layers of complicity, guilt, inaction, and a sense of inevitability. No matter what, you can always “choose to look away”
