I am absolutely LOVING some of the online reactions to the new pope. JD Vance is getting roasted, MAGAts are freaking out, and we're getting deliciously nerdy quips like the two below:

Mawlana Hazar Imam is asked if he's like the Queen or the Pope: Interviewer: Would you say your position as leader of the Ismailis is similar to that of the Queen in this country or perhaps nearer to say the Pope? Aga Khan: "Well it’s hard to compare the position to either of them. The Imam is the descendant of the Prophet, and as such has the religious guidance of his community. At the same time he has to see that in their material life they are happy and that they progress as fast as the countries they are living in progress themselves." The 2015 Gallup Film Festival (September 2015)
Popemania — Official Selection, Shorts Category & Best Short Documentary
We are so glad to announce that Popemania was accepted into the 2015 Gallup Film Festival in New Mexico, USA! Our documentary was screened on September 19, 2015 at the El Morro Theatre to an audience that was eager to learn more about culture and diversity. This is the first screening of Popemania outside of the Philippines. It makes us so happy to know that non-Filipinos are interested to watch our documentary and to learn more about Catholicism in the Philippines!

Popemania In NYC
Popemania aka standing in a line that stretched 32 blocks for over four hours, and the only real way to see Pope Francis was through other people's phones.
Jane, Pope Francis super fan.
Just before Pope Francis came rolling through Central Park, people spot a rainbow overhead.
Crowd photographing the rainbow.
I agree, it’s a sign: God Loves Gays
I swear I saw Pope Francis, but I didn't get a good shot of him. I'm ok with that, especially since 99.9% of the people around me were living through a camera -- it felt right to see with my own eyes for those few minutes.
