during stars first year living on corona she decided to scrapbook her time on the island. she liked having her memories cemented in collage form, and it gave her plenty of reason to visit the craft store three days out of the week and spend a lot of money on glitter, not to mention the owner of said craft store was one of her favorite people on the planet. poppy was like the mother star wished she had! she was beautiful, funny, optimistic, and very wise. star would trust the older woman with anything when it came down to it. it was hard for star to see herself in anyone older than her but whenever she looked at poppy, she felt like just maybe she could be herself and take on more responsibility. maybe. she tried to take a picture every single time she came to the store to the point where she just had an entire chapter in her scrapbook dedicated to these photos. she liked to do a new pose in a new spot each time and today's was near all of the glitter glue which she somehow never took a photo at before. as she began to make a silly face into the camera she heard footsteps approach and beamed when she saw who it was. "poppy! wanna get in on this photo moment?"
“Well, of course you don’t, because you haven’t written it yet. I mean, is anything real before you write it, Steve? The things you write about are real, those people are real, their feelings are real, their pain is real, but not to you, is it? Not until you chew it up and you digest it and you shit it out on a piece of paper and even then it’s a pale imitation at best. You take other people’s lives and love and loss and pain, and you eat it, Steve. You are an eater. You eat it and you shit it out and then, and only then, is it real for you. Normal people’s lives are flesh and blood and muscle and bone, but not yours, darling, oh no! Your life is plastic -- you are a plastic parasite. A plastic hack, aren’t ya, honey? So of course you don’t remember how you healed our marriage or made our baby, because you haven’t really seen it, have you? You haven’t -- shat it out in prose. I -- I was always a supporting player in your story, if we’re honest -- I would feed you and fuck you and pay the bills while you squinted over some novel that nobody was gonna read or publish, but I paid you to write them, didn’t I? I picked up the check for your dreams and I said goodbye to mine and not even that was enough. Don’t lie to me, honey, I wasn’t real. If I was real, you never would’ve walked out that door, but I wasn’t, and you did. And now this one -- this... little one... she won’t be real, either. Oh, she’s kicking. Oh, she’s hungry. She must be an eater like her dad. If she is, my love, if she eats me from the inside, and I burst like a blister, will you lose your mind? Like your mother?”

Minerva & Poppy - Are there any rebels who you are hoping will join you here at the base? Are there former students and other friends you're hoping to provide refuge for?
I’d love to see every one of my old students again - and I don’t just mean the Gryffindors. This generation is full of the brightest witches and wizards I have ever had the pleasure of teaching, though they did have the most mysterious habits of getting into a record amount of trouble. I know that Edward and Andromeda Tonks’ daughter should be around eleven years old, now, and raised by two of the bravest people I’ve ever taught. I haven’t seen Lily and James or their little Harry for longer than I like. I would love to see Molly again, and all of her kids - all future Gryffindors, I’m positive of it, and probably trouble makers as well, despite her best efforts. I know how badly Horace wants to see his old students - I believe he’d be over the moon if Gwenog showed up.
I hope I can see all of them again. It would be comforting to know that they’re all alright, that they’ve made it this far. I spent half of my career patching up Sirius Black and Dorcas Meadowes, and to be honest, I actually wouldn’t mind continuing. The Prewett twins were also frequenters, but that was far more harmless. I hope Remus comes as well - I’ve come up with a safety room for his transformations. He’s probably isolated himself from everyone now, and it breaks my heart to think of him like that. And Emmeline! She showed so much potential to be an excellent healer. I remember Narcissa as well. I worried about her - still do. She seemed… softer than her bunch.
"wow, look at this view..." poppy expressed in awe, eyes bright and grin wide from the sunset the two were viewing from the bonfire the two were sharing on the beach. poppy had bought ingredients for s'mores for the two to share, and she cuddled up next to isaac, bundled up in a blanket as she prepared the ingredients.
