Some of these summer activities seemed more... dangerous than the others. But hey, as Leon would say, that’s what makes it fun, right? Plus, what better way to test his newly returned hover shell than by using it to outrun an army of ghosts?

So, there he is, taking a deep breath in front of the giant hole and taking the step forwards... Only to be yanked back by his arm at the last second and land on his backside. Hard.

“Ow. Why would you do that?” He twists to look behind himself, at the little... Yokai if he had to guess? Though who knows with this place, really. “I know what I am doing here, believe it or not.”

     She remembered... many moments like these. Atop an ivory tower overlooking a sky-bound island, with the sky’s sprawling blue and a sea of clouds surrounding it as far as the eye could see, Mao sat by a small stone fountain on a worn wooden chair, shaded with a makeshift cloth tarp cover. There were four other towers nearby, each a separate part of the castle she grew up in, but this one was hers.

How many times had she sat here, on the rooftop garden above her room, gazing out into the endless yonder? Too many to count— before she’d left anyways. And yet, the wooden planters around the tower’s edges still seemed to have relatively fresh paint, and the sunflowers blooming within them seemed aged, yet lively. This really must have been a dream, she thought.

But something was off. And that something was... a round, blue thing wrapped in what looked like a cape, standing near one of the tower’s rounded edges.

“...” She stands up, canting her head. 

“What, are you some kind of dream demon or... something? I don’t remember any ball-like things here before. ... Well, maybe if you were green, but...”
