Have you ever watched Twin Peaks? Do you know the log lady? Do you want to know about the guy who wanted to know more about her? Ladies and gentlemen, our special reporter Popy Blasco.
Dodo: You traveled to Twin Peaks to interview Margaret Lanterman, the log lady. How was the experience?
Popy Blasco: It was very exciting to enter the Double R. Not just to meet the log lady, but to see Norma as well. I went there looking for answers. But in the end, like the best of mysteries, they remain just that, a mystery.
D: The interview is featured in the first issue of Dodo. What do you think about the first issue of Dodo by the way?
P: I’ve always wanted to be part of the Scooby Doo gang and travel in the Mystery Machine with them at night. Outside its all thunder and ghosts, yet inside it’s warm and cozy. We would be reading Dodo whilst inside. The Goonies would also read Dodo in their tree house. Dodo unlocks something very intimate inside of each of us. An intimacy that is sometimes surrounded with so much irony and sarcasm that we forget its even there. But Dodo helps us embrace that intimacy.
D: Tales beneath the fire or the Ouija board?
P: Tales beneath the fire! I don’t want to come face to face with an Evil Dead demon that wants to possess us… scary! Although it would be cool using a Ouija board to communicate with Bela Lugosi or Narciso Íbañez-Menta.
D: What’s a typical Halloween eve in the life of Popy?
P: We always carve pumpkins a few days before (not too much time before though because they start to wrinkle). We usually make two, one with a kind face and another with a creepy face. The best thing is to start the afternoon playing Atmosfear and having a pyjama party with pizza and Halloween themed scary movies like “The Midnight Hour” or “Trick or Treat”. This Halloween I will be in N.Y. so we will go to the parade with our costumes.
D: What is going to be your costume this year?
P: I don’t know if it’s going to be the old lady of Insidious or a Zugarramurdi’s witch.
D: Who would you like to dress as you on Halloween?
P: I’d love it if Miley Cyrus wore a mask of me!
