1: Who is your favorite author and why?
Tolkein. I don’t care if that sounds contrived, or snobby, or whatever. I love his works, including his translation of Beowulf. I can’t accurately describe how much I love his ability to capture the human condition in only a few pages sentences so I’m just going to say that he does it better than any other author and I love him.
2: If you could trade lives with anyone in the world for 24 hours, who would you pick and why?
It’s quite possible terribly selfish and certainly doesn’t paint a flattering image of myself, but I would trade lives with someone such that the trade would continue to benefit me after we’d both gone back. So I’d trade with someone who had the ability to approve a full ride scholarship to Harvard or to Durham. Or perhaps I’d trade lives with a publisher. It’s not glamourous and it’s terribly self-serving, but it’s honestly what I would do given a window of only 24 hours.
3: Star Trek or Star Wars?
This is a terribly unkind question. I think I’d have to ultimately go with Star Wars because there’s more family nostalgia wrapped up in it for me. Han shot first.
4: What’s your favorite holiday?
I love the Christmas season, I simply adore it. The weather, the food, the clothing, the music, the decorations. All of it.
5: What do you expect to be doing in ten years?
I hate this question. Because I always expect the same thing. I expect to be trying to do something else in ten years. No matter what I achieve between now and then, I don’t have faith that it will be enough. Ideally, I’d like to be teaching literature or cataloging items for a museum in ten years.
6: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you?
I’d love to live in the UK or in Ireland. I’m just going to pretend that “could live” also refers to the monetary ability to live anywhere. So there you have it.
7: What was the last movie you watched?
Iron Man 2. Yep.
8: What is the WORST book you’ve ever read?
50 Shades of Grey. (I don’t like to criticize what I haven’t read, so I did it. I shouldn’t have.)
9: What fandom would you like to purge from Tumblr?
I don’t like the idea of purging any fandom, they deserve to talk about what they like amongst each other and I wouldn’t call hurtful or dangerous communities fandoms. I do suppose, though, that there are a few fandoms with reputations for being rude to others and Tumblr would be a more pleasant place without them.
10: In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what could you not live without?
My father. That man is a tactical survival genius. Honestly though, I don’t know that I could maintain hope and keep trying to live in a Zombie apocalypse. I’m terrified of disease and rot, so yeah…
11: Am I annoying you yet? XD
Never!
My questions:
1.What do you think your favourite colour says about you?
2. Who is the literary character you most identify with and why?
3. What is your favourite genre(s) of music?
4. What is one of your biggest pet peeves?
5. Do you have a favourite word or phrase? What is it?
6. What was your favourite subject in school?
7. What is your dream career?
8. Do you consider yourself a social person? Why or why not?
9. Do you like theme parks?
10. What is the one place you would visit if you could with no restrictions?
11. Tea or coffee?
