University Plaza, Waterloo
We went here for dinner since we were already out and about and craving Korean food, and oh boy did we make the right decision to go. She got a classic Bibimbap, and I got Pork Bone Soup with a side of rice. The dishes were around the $8 to $10 mark.
On the side dishes:
It’s not a Korean meal without some side dishes, and while they were pretty standard, I have to say the soy sauce potatoes were AMAZING. I don’t know what they did but they’re a strong contender for the best thing we had that night.
On the Bibimbap:
This was a pretty standard bibimbap - pretty much like every other Korean restaurant we’ve been to, but it was pretty tasty nonetheless. It’s her all time favourite Korean dish and it didn’t disappoint her, so I’d say that’s a good job. It also came with Miso Soup on the side!
On the Pork Bone Soup:
Don’t even get me started on this. Pork Bone is easily one of my favourite foods to have, and I was very happy with how it turned out. The broth was full of flavour and had the perfect saltiness for my taste buds. The meat fell right off the bone and it was marinated very well. A very very satisfying dish and I’m glad to say that I ordered it, because I almost didn’t!
Overall:
Our friend recommended it to us and said it was the best Korean food in the plaza, and while we haven’t been to all of them, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was right. It’s a quaint little spot and we had great, quick service. Definitely a good place to have lunch or dinner.
