Mele Waterfalls Cascades, Port Vila by Jan Kokes
I didn't see much mentioned about it here, but on December 17th a 7.3 earthquake hit near Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu. It was followed by a 5.5 earthquake the next day. Both earthquakes also triggered landslides.
Pretty much every building in Port Vila was either destroyed or damaged, the port was cut off, electricity and water were cut, and approx. 1000 homes on the affected islands were destroyed (including the home of a family friend in Mele). So far, the official death count is 14 and the injury count is close to 300, but this may change as more places are excavated (there are fears that a bus may have been buried in a landslide), and due to the risk of flooding from damaged infrastructure.
The Rotary Club of Port Vila is raising money and working to assist villages restore water and other basic needs. I have attached screen caps of their Facebook page below - if you are able to assist, anything would be both greatly appreciated and put to good use.

We arrived in Port Vila the next day. Cause our excursion in Vila was canceled we just shopped at the Port market and then headed back for an afternoon by the deserted pool in the solarium.
