HAPPY AND PORTAL
HAPPY .
1. arden is a CAT LADY . over the years , he will grow to adopt so many cats . at the age of 23 , he currently owns two ;; smithy , a cat rescued from a shelter , & moody , a stray cat he brought in .
2. when he finally opens his studio , it doesn’t really get that many customers at first . over time , though , the reputation of his diligence & talent starts to spread . he gets more business & there’s even a few CELEBRITIES that step in to record . ( the studio will have been open for about twelve years during the first time that happens . )
3. he discovered he wasn’t straight much sooner in this verse ( 17 ) opposed to canon ( 30 ) . he still had the same panic due to the inescapable internalized homophobia ( biphobia ? panphobia ? he still doesn’t know what he is either . )
4. arden always tends to have an attraction towards older , more dominant personalities , ( though , that doesn’t mean that’s his only type , that’s just a facet ) . while in canon , he never truly explored this save for a couple dates here & there , in this au he dated multiple people twice his age or MORE .
5. he continues to live with his mother up until her eventual death . whereas in canon , he lived alone for MANY years , he doesn’t in this au until she passes away .
PORTAL .
1. arden & w.heatley have met multiple times , but wheatley has yet to notice that he’s actually his sister’s ex - husband . almost every single time they see each other , wheatley points out another WEIRD COINCIDENCE .
2. he’s quite used to morally HORRIBLE companies ( thanks to his father ) , but he was hoping that this one wouldn’t be that way . when he discovered that it was , he was torn between leaving & staying to help . ( he stayed . )
3. the only reason he joined the company in the first place was to prove to his dad that he could get a job & keep it . ironically henry was also the only reason he got the job .
4. at some point he considered offering himself to be a TEST SUBJECT to further put together what sort of things went on behind - the - scenes , but he figured with his mental health , he’d be useless .
5. arden got turned into music core . ( i haven’t looked into all this p.ortal stuff in so long . i think that exists already , but shhh . )
