“You’re out here wanting to make this game difficult for me, aren’t you? I’m not killing any of them, I would never want to kill any of them. The K is gonna be for kiss and I’ve already kissed all three of them anyway and I would gladly kiss all of them all again. Ok, everything could be interchangeable honestly and that’s what makes it so hard to pick one option. But I think I’m gonna go with fuck Isidore, marry Renzie and kiss Steph.”
“Wait...it’s not weird or presumptuous to be picking marriage for Renzie when we only just started dating right? Maybe I should switch him and Steph? And we’re not gonna think about the fact that I chose fuck for Isidore who is my boss...but picking Steph to fuck while I’m dating her brother probably isn’t the move...but Isi is his best friend, what’s worse? No, you know what? It’s fine, I’ll leave it, this is my answer.”

"Fine. So I fuck Mellora, and marry Elistra, because she is a siren. If she wasn't a traitor to sirens, I don't think she would be a terrible spouse. She's very knowledgeable."
What's been your favourite thing you've found at the thrift shop? Have you ever been tempted to steal from there?
"Ohhhh, you know I have found so many interesting things there! Everything is so fascinating! There is this one thing I don't...I have no idea what it is, what's its purpose but...I love it. It's so weird but it's so funny I always make sure to walk by it and lift it up to look at that dumb little face. Who would create this and then just willingly give it up? It’s insanity!”
She paused for a moment as she considered the second part of the question. “Is...is stealing an option? Is that something I can just do? If so I would very much like to steal it and take it home for myself."
How are you handling all the siren captains being on land now?
"Not well." Elistra could at least admit to that. "I know I have to be more patient with them. All of them genuinely believe what they're doing is what's right for sirens. But every time I see one of them, I'm reminded why I left."
She might have left the statement alone after that. Except that wasn't the full truth of the matter. Elistra sighed and shook her head. "They're different than I thought they'd be though. Well, they're exactly what I thought they'd be in some ways. Arrogant, blunt, and so obstinate that it makes my blood boil." She ticked off each flaw on her fingers. Then she shrugged. "But they're also just people. I can see how scared some of them are, how hurt. If they work with the mermaids, where does that leave their anger? I don't know the answer to that yet; I don't even know what to do with my own."
What's your apartment like?
"It was the one that cost the least. I share it with quite a few land insects that I did not agree to share with. The ceiling has an unusual and unsavory texture. The paint appears to be coming away from the walls in places. I have a small bed. It's a twin size, I think. I don't have a twin, so I don't know why it is called that. Everything in the apartment technically functions, but I try to get my artwork done in public spaces rather than inside of my apartment. I don’t like it in there."
What are you fighting for? Or have you given up fighting for anything?
"You sound like Elistra. Why must everything be a fight? Can we not just drink beer and live peacefully? I fight for the right not to fight. That is my fight."
