THE LOOK SHE casts in the young demigod's direction is distinctly tired, but those who know what to look for will see the hints of amusement lingering within the expression. While she and the young Percy Jackson may not have been well acquainted, she had heard plenty of his exploits -- both from the likes of those in Olympus and from her own husband.

"Seems to me trouble just goes 'round followin' you, boy." And then, with a laugh, "I love that you're quick-witted enough to outsmart the laws of the Underworld... but I would not recommend trying such a thing again."

'Course, she doubted much if he would have reason to -- seemed the boy had made good friends with her son, and that was enough to earn him some leeway... or at the very least, the knowledge of certain back doors and secrets.

Nico was dead on his feet. Well, not literally dead on his feet. That would be a whole different problem and he wouldn’t really care what was happening to his body any more as he would be on his way to the Underworld and one very disappointed father. He had actually just shadow traveled three time in rapid succession, carrying one passenger along, and the only thing on his mind was how much he wanted to sleep.

“C’mon Nico, not here,” Percy’s voice filtered through his mind and he obeyed without protest, following the direction the hand on his shoulder lead, too tired to protest much.

He distantly registered some snuffling and growling of a creature that was definitely not human, but he didn’t even have the energy to lift his head to check. Nodding along as he walked, Nico’s foot caught on the sidewalk and he stumbled a little.

Nico stared at Percy for a long moment, dark circles under his eyes somehow even darker than before, pale face gaunt and skin taut. His eyes had seen a lot down in Tartarus, too much, and he felt....hollow.

“Yeah, you’re gonna want to try a different strategy than that.”

“Physical or mental?”

Nico asked, lifting his head up off the ground to give the demigod a look. All of him hurt. The last monster fight had been brutal. Three rogue cyclops and a hellhound was not a group to take lightly, and they probably would have avoided the fight if they could, except the monsters surprised them.

His left wrist now. He’d taken a cyclops club directly to the arm and he was only surprised it wasn’t broken, but he didn’t want to look at it too close either. Will would have a few to say to him about being careful during fights. At least he didn’t feel like he immediately needed a nap, although the ground was pretty comfortable.
